Legal Aid Service of Broward County provides free, high-quality immigration assistance and representation to eligible immigrants residing in Broward County. We assist eligible immigrants and their families in applying for lawful immigration status, work permits, and permanent residence (green card), and in defending against deportation. We are a private, non-profit organization – not a government agency.

Our Focus

  • Children: We represent immigrant children who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected, who are living with non-parental relative or non-relative caregivers, and/or who have been designated unaccompanied minors (UAC) because they entered the United States without a parent or legal guardian

  • Crime Victims: We represent immigrant victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, and other serious crimes

  • Detainees: We represent immigrant residents of Broward County who have been detained by Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE), or are in BSO custody with an ICE detainer

  • Other immigration matters such as removal proceedings and asylum

Intake & Consultation
