Victims of Crime (VOCA)

Legal Aid Service of Broward County provides free civil legal services to eligible residents of Broward County who are victims of crime. We provide holistic legal services to victims of eligible non-intimate partner crimes such as:

  • Abuse or neglect (child or adult)
  • Abandonment or neglect
  • Aggravated assault and battery
  • Arson, burglary, robbery, theft, larceny
  • Crime victim facing eviction/foreclosure, unlawful detainer action
  • Child victims of abuse, bullying
  • Financial crimes
  • Forcible sexual offense and rape
  • Hate crimes, mass violence
  • Homicide
  • Human trafficking (sex and labor)
  • Identity theft, fraud, scams
  • Child or adult sexual assault
  • Restraining orders for the protection against stalking, repeat violence, sexual violence, and domestic violence

  • Broward County resident (or when crime occurred in Broward)
  • Victim of a crime
