Profile in Good: Tamara Walters, Esq.

Tamara Walters is the supervising attorney for Legal Aid Service of Broward County’s VOCA unit, representing clients in consumer law, housing law, and obtaining injunctions for victims of crime. 

Tamara was born in Jamaica and migrated to the United States at the age of 6 growing up in Melbourne Florida. She began her legal career at the State Attorney’s Office and subsequently worked at a foreclosure law firm representing creditors and mortgage servicers. Today, Tamara is an integral part of Legal Aid Service of Broward County.

“It is an honor working at Legal Aid Service of South Florida advocating for victims of crime and providing legal assistance to underprivileged members of our community,” says Tamara.

Tamara has extensive experience handling a wide variety of real estate litigation and transaction matter, including complex residential and commercial landlord-tenant law, contract disputes, and community association matters. She has extensive litigation experience in both civil and criminal courts. She also enjoys reading and watching movies and sporting events.

Ms. Walters is a graduate of the University of Miami where she graduated with a Juris Doctor degree and has been a member of the Florida Bar since 2004. Tamara also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Florida State University.
