Pro Bono Attorney Spotlight: Thomas R. Mendez Walser, Esq.

Thomas R. Mendez Walser, Esq.

Tommy Walser, a partner at Florida Probate Law Firm, PLLC, has volunteered with Legal Aid Service of Broward County’s “No Place Like Home” program for the past 2 years. His pro bono work includes providing probate services to low-income and vulnerable members of our community in need of legal assistance.

Mr. Walser is committed to providing pro bono services to these underserved populations who could not otherwise afford legal assistance. Thomas has volunteered a large number of hours on at least six cases helping several individuals clear titles to their homes.

The “No Place Like Home” Program is a partnership with The Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar. Most people utilizing this service have recently lost a loved one who owned a home and need help transferring the title into the names of the correct beneficiaries. Without clearing title, it would be impossible for the beneficiaries to prove ownership, qualify for disaster-relief benefits, obtain insurance coverage, or maintain a homestead tax exemption.

“Legal Aid Service of Broward County is a great organization, which identifies those in our community who need help with the probate process, but cannot afford it. Florida Probate Law Firm is happy to assist with the probate process for individuals who need help the most. It is important to give back to the community we live in, the best way we know how” stated Walser.

Thomas holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the New York University School of Law and a Bachelors in Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Finance from the University of Miami.

Thomas interned for the White House Council on Environmental Quality under the Obama Administration in 2009 and the British Council with offices located in the UK mission to the United Nations.
