Katy Huddleston is a Legal Aid attorney working on the Medical Legal Project in collaboration with Memorial Health Systems. Through the project, Katy works closely with healthcare providers at Memorial to identify patients with health-harming legal needs ranging from foreclosure to accessing public benefits. She seeks to remedy legal issues through advocacy and representation.
Prior to joining Legal Aid, Huddleston was engaged in systemic legal advocacy on issues such as increasing access to affordable health care, eliminating the use of solitary confinement for juveniles, and other institutional matters affecting vulnerable Florida populations.
Huddleston also is an environmental advocate, spending her free time exploring South Florida’s coastal environments and cleaning up plastic and other marine debris that washes up onshore. She is a Miami native and earned her J.D. from Florida International University College of Law.
