Jorge Hurtado has been an active volunteer with Broward Lawyers Care and Legal Aid for the past 25 years, during which he has handled 75 pro bono cases. He primarily assists survivors of domestic violence to obtain restraining orders, divorces and agreements for timesharing and child support. In one recent case, Jorge helped a 70-year-old senior client to receive a restraining order against her physically abusive ex-boyfriend. Ultimately, his work enables survivors of domestic violence to protect themselves and to establish independence from abusive partners.
Jorge has been practicing law since 1990. He handles cases in the areas of general civil litigation, family law litigation, commercial litigation and criminal defense. He is a past Chair of the 17th Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee, and was Attorney of the Year in 2008. He maintains a private practice in Coral Springs, FL.
