CCLA Welcomes New Family Law Attorney

Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida (CCLA) is pleased to welcome Shayna Finkelstein to the Family Law Team. Finkelstein will be working with victims of domestic violence in Broward County.
Finkelstein will be working under a Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant from the Florida Attorney General’s Office. She will provide counsel to victims of intimate partner violence as a result of physical abuse, stalking, or sexual abuse. Finkelstein’s holistic representation will serve to address all legal issues affecting the lives of victims of domestic violence who suffer from the ripple effect of domestic violence. Clients in need of representation with injunctions for protection against domestic violence, dissolutions of marriage and paternity cases, as well as assistance with any issue which will lead to stabilizing client lives, including immigration, housing and government assistance will be represented.
Prior to joining CCLA, Finkelstein worked for the Miami-Dade County Public Defender’s Office. “While practicing criminal law, I was only able to help with the criminal aspect of the case,” Finkelstein said. “I wanted to be able to provide more holistic representation to my clients. I volunteered at Three Rivers Legal Services while studying at the University of Florida, so my connection to CCLA’s mission goes back to those days.”
Finkelstein earned a B.A., cum laude, and a J.D. from the University of Florida and is admitted to The Florida Bar.
