Board Member Spotlight: Shawana Newson

Shawana Newson is serving her second term on the joint Board of Directors, representing the Broward County Commission. She has been employed by the federal government for over a decade, first serving as a Service Representative for the Social Security Administration, and now as a Claims Representative in Broward County.
Shawana is a full-time mother of four, one of whom is serving in the Navy. She is proud to serve as a board member, explaining “Legal Aid gives hope to families when they are in need, including my own.”
