Story of Justice: Tamara
Challenge: Tamara is a sixth-grade student who has an eligibility of Specific Learning Disability (SLD) on her Individual Education Plan (IEP). When Legal Aid received this case, Tamara was in need of academic interventions and struggling significantly in school.
Assistance: After our Legal Aid attorneys got involved, Tamara was evaluated and now has an IEP with the necessary supports and services to help her succeed academically.
Why it Matters: Most recently, the school reported that Tamara is making progress with her IEP goals and had all A’s and B’s as of her interim reports. This would not have been possible without our advocacy in obtaining an appropriate IEP for Tamara given her unique characteristics and circumstances.
