Seven-year-old Adam* was adopted by his maternal grandfather after his mom passed away from a drug overdose. Adam was suffering from behavioral problems at school due to intellectual disabilities and mental health issues such as Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, ADHD, PTSD, and exposure to domestic violence. Because of this, Adam’s grandfather wanted him in a more restrictive setting.
After multiple team meetings and updating his Individualized Education Program, Adam was placed in a more restrictive environment at Whispering Pines which has proven to be successful. Since starting at Whispering Pines, Adam’s behavior is greatly improved, and his academics are on the rise!
