Public Interest Law Summer Fellow Announced

University of Florida law student Toni-Ann Pearson selected as the 2018 Fellow
FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida – (August 7, 2018) – The Young Lawyers Section (YLS) of the Broward County Bar Association is pleased to announce that Toni-Ann Pearson has been selected as their 2018 Public Interest Law Summer Fellow. Each year the Summer Fellow spends six weeks with the Legal Aid Providers in Broward County, Legal Aid Service of Broward County (LAS) and Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida (LAS).
Pearson is a rising third year law student at the University of Florida Levin College of Law and plans to pursue a career in public interest law.
As a Fellow, Pearson will have the opportunity to work directly with LAS and CCLA clients and attorneys, assisting individuals on issues affecting children, veterans, disabled clients, the elderly, as well as other low-income individuals.
Immediate past President of YLS Sara Sandler stated, “I am so pleased to be part of the project, participating in both the fundraising and selection process. This is an important and necessary program for both the Fellow and for our legal aid providers here in Broward.  We are excited about Toni-Ann’s enthusiasm to serve as the 2018 Summer Fellow and look forward to seeing the great work she does for our community this summer.”
