Profile in Good: Andrea Crumrine
Andrea Crumrine is the Supervising Immigration Attorney at Legal Aid Service of Broward County where she manages the non-profit’s Immigration Unit.
Andrea provides immigration assistance to eligible immigrants residing in Broward County in applying for lawful immigration status, work permits, and permanent residence. She also consults with individuals in jail as to how their criminal cases may affect their immigration status.
Additionally, Crumrine represents Broward residents detained in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody or the Broward County Sherriff with an ICE detainer. Ms. Crumrine focuses on mixed-status families to reduce the time Broward families are separated due to immigration issues and represents non-citizen children in foster care under ChildNet supervision.
Before joining Legal Aid, Cumrine worked as Staff Attorney and Equal Justice Works Fellow for Americans for Immigrant Justice. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Andrea has also served as a Committee Member for the Minnesota Women Lawyers (MWL) Association and as Immigration Clinic Student Director for the Binger Center for New Americans.
She received her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with Spanish Studies from the University of Minnesota.
Andrea is a Minnesota native, Korean-adoptee, and fluent Spanish speaker.
