Board Member Profile: Kemie King, Esq.
We are honored to welcome Kemie King to the Board of Directors of Legal Aid Service of Broward County for 2022.
Kemie King is a managing partner at King Lindsey, P.A., a litigation law firm located in Fort Lauderdale, FL. serving Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties. Her firm practice areas include marital and family law, criminal defense, and civil litigation.
Kemie received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Maryland School of Law and her Bachelor’s degree from Temple University. Attorney King is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia, the State of Florida, and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. She is a trial lawyer with extensive experience in litigating civil and criminal cases and conducting jury and non-jury trials in State and Federal courts. Her legal career began as an Assistant Public Defender. She went on to work for Covington and Burling, a prestigious law firm in Washington, DC. She has also served as an Assistant Attorney General in Broward County, Florida, prosecuting child abuse and neglect cases.
In addition to her legal advocacy, Attorney King has taught, as an adjunct professor, courses in Criminal Law, Juvenile Delinquency, and Paralegal Studies. She is also active in several community service organizations. She has served as the President of the Broward County Women Lawyers Association; Section Chair of the Broward County Bar Association’s Family Law Section; and Legal Advocate Chair for the Heart Gallery of Broward County. She is also an active member of the Broward County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
Through her years of experience, Attorney King has always approached each case and each client with compassion and understands the importance of treating every client with dignity and respect. Kemie enjoys giving back to her community and spending time with her husband and her two children.
