I am honored to be the 2019 Board Chair for the Legal Aid Programs in Broward. As I take the gavel, I am renewing my personal and professional commitment to continue to serve the south Florida community. Several years ago, I accepted a position on this Board of Directors to help further my dream that everyone in our community would have fair and equal access justice, including people experiencing homelessness, elder abuse, family violence, and financial disadvantages. To this end, I will continue to steadfastly support the efforts of the Legal Aid Programs in Broward efforts to ensure equal access, legal representation, and education for the county’s most vulnerable residents.
Chairing this auspicious organization is an honor for me. It resonates with my lifelong values and experience. As a soccer and flag football coach in my youth, to my time as a law school Teacher’s Assistant, and now, as a Partner with Kelley Kronenberg mentoring young associates, I have always strived to make a meaningful difference in the lives of other people. As one of the very first attorneys to participate in the Broward Lawyers Care Advice and Counsel Hotline, I not only provided legal advice to low income clients, I also actively recruited other attorneys to serve as volunteers. I intend to continue to help other lawyers ‘get out of the office’ and meet people who need legal help where they live.
I look forward to partnering with my fellow members of the Board of Directors and the legal aid staff and stakeholders. I am excited to collaborate with other legal aid organizations throughout Florida to continue our longstanding commitment to building broad support for civil legal aid programs serving the low-income community.
